Celebrations

Every occasion, done properly.

From a first birthday to a golden wedding anniversary, we plan and style celebrations that actually feel like what they're supposed to be. Here's a look at the occasions we work on most.

Kids' parties

Children's birthday parties

A kids' party is one of those things that sounds simple until you're knee-deep in Amazon orders, trying to figure out how to hang a backdrop in a hired hall with forty children arriving in two hours. We've done hundreds of them, and the process is a lot more straightforward when you've done it that many times.

We work on kids' parties for ages one through to teenagers — each age group has completely different requirements. A first birthday is largely for the parents and the photos; a 10-year-old's party is about the entertainment and the friends; a 16th is somewhere between a party and a proper event. We adapt the styling and the approach to the age and the personality.

Popular children's themes we've worked with: Unicorn, Dinosaur, Jungle Safari, Under the Sea, Princess & Knights, Superheroes, Space, Butterflies and Garden Party. We can also work from a specific character or film if your child has a particular favourite: just ask.

For children's parties, we recommend booking four to six weeks ahead so there's time to source theme-specific props. School holiday dates book up fast, so earlier is always better if your party falls in half-term or the summer.

Milestone birthdays

18th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th and beyond

Milestone birthdays tend to get treated as events rather than parties — there's more thought about venue, about guest lists, about making a real occasion of it. That's exactly the kind of celebration we're good at.

The approach changes significantly depending on the age and the person. An 18th usually wants bold, high-energy styling — big balloons, bright colours, bold signage. A 40th might suit something more sophisticated: dramatic florals, darker tones, statement lighting. A 60th could be elegant and relaxed. We design around the person being celebrated, not a generic template.

For milestone birthdays at external venues (restaurants, function rooms, marquees, village halls) we coordinate with the venue team to confirm set-up windows and any restrictions. We've worked in a wide range of spaces and know how to adapt a styling plan to a new room quickly.

Book four to eight weeks ahead for milestone birthdays. If you're working with a venue that has limited set-up time, flag this early and we'll make sure the installation plan accounts for it.

Baby showers & christenings

Baby showers, naming days and christenings

Baby showers sit in a particular sweet spot — they're celebratory and joyful but they also need to be comfortable and relaxed for the guest of honour, who is usually not at the stage of life where they want to be standing for three hours. We think a lot about how the space feels to be in, not just how it photographs.

Common baby shower themes we work with include: Boho Wildflower, Bee and Honey, Little Pumpkin, Over the Moon, Garden Party, Jungle Animals and Dusty Blue & White. Gender-reveal styling is also something we do. We've designed everything from simple pastel reveals to full dramatic pink-or-blue cannon moments.

Christenings and naming day ceremonies have their own requirements: they usually take place in a venue that has some formal associations, so the styling tends to be a touch more restrained (soft florals, elegant table dressing, a focused sweet table) but still celebratory and personal. We're experienced at striking that balance without the room feeling stiff.

Baby showers and christenings typically have shorter lead times — three to four weeks is usually enough, though we appreciate as much notice as possible for custom prop sourcing.

Anniversaries & other gatherings

Anniversaries, family gatherings and everything else

Wedding anniversaries, particularly the bigger milestones like Silver (25th), Pearl (30th), Ruby (40th), Golden (50th) and Diamond (60th), often have a family-gathering feel: multi-generational guest lists, a desire for warmth over formality, and a wish to actually celebrate the couple rather than the styling. We design these with that in mind, keeping the focus on the people rather than the decor.

We also work on events that don't fit neatly into one category: a garden party for a retirement, a surprise celebration for someone returning from abroad, a belated birthday for someone who was in hospital on the day. If there's a reason to celebrate, we're up for it.

Hen parties, leavers' events and group celebrations are also something we can help with — a styled brunch, a cocktail evening with a fun backdrop and some balloon art, or a fuller event production.

Get in touch with the details and we'll work out a plan. There's no occasion too unusual. We've seen most things by now.

The process

How a booking works

From your first message to pack-down after the party — here's exactly how the process runs.

  1. Initial enquiry

Send us a message with the occasion, the date, the venue (or rough location) and any ideas you already have. If you have a theme in mind, brilliant — if not, we'll help you find one. We respond within two working days.

  2. Proposal and moodboard

We come back with a style direction, a moodboard of the look we're proposing, a breakdown of what's included and a price. You can ask questions, request adjustments and take time to think it over — no pressure.

  3. Booking confirmation

A deposit secures the date. We then start sourcing, ordering and building the props and arrangements. If you have preferences or changes along the way, this is the stage to share them.

  4. Set-up day

We arrive at the agreed time (usually two to three hours before guests arrive) and build everything in the venue. You don't need to be there; most clients prefer not to see it until it's finished. We give you a quick tour at the end and then we're out of the way.

  5. Pack-down

After the celebration, we return to collect hire items and dismantle balloon and backdrop installations. We coordinate the return time with you in advance. Biodegradable balloons are disposed of responsibly.

Typical booking timelines

As a rough guide: children's parties need four to six weeks' notice; milestone birthdays and larger events need six to eight weeks; baby showers and christenings need three to four weeks. During busy periods (summer holidays, December, Easter) everything books up earlier, so if your date is within any of those windows, get in touch as soon as you have a date confirmed.

We do occasionally accommodate shorter lead times (two to three weeks) for smaller packages. It depends on what's involved and what we have on at the time. Drop us a line and we'll be honest about what's feasible.

Venues

We've worked in village halls, hotel function rooms, pub private dining rooms, marquees, back gardens, soft-play spaces, children's activity centres, community centres and people's living rooms. The approach changes depending on the space, but the principle doesn't: we adapt to the venue, not the other way around.

If you're still looking for a venue, we're happy to share suggestions for the area. We've worked with a number of local spaces and know which ones are straightforward for events.
