About us

The people who think about your party so you don't have to.

The Celebrations Company was set up because someone had to go to a lot of parties that clearly caused more stress than joy for the people throwing them. There's a better way.

How it started

It began with one too many chaotic birthday mornings

The idea for The Celebrations Company came from a straightforward observation: most people hosting a party spend the morning of the event frantic, exhausted and covered in ribbon before a single guest arrives. They've ordered decorations in four separate Amazon deliveries, the backdrop looks nothing like the photo, and they're now wondering whether they've left enough time to actually get dressed.

The team behind this company had, collectively, spent years doing event and party styling for friends, family and eventually clients. The feedback was consistent: once someone else handles the styling and the set-up, throwing a party stops feeling like a project and starts feeling like an occasion again. That's the service we formalised.

We started with a focus on children's parties and baby showers, and the scope grew naturally as clients came back for the next occasion. A customer who booked us for their daughter's fifth birthday came back for the 40th birthday celebration two years later. That kind of progression tells you something about whether the work is good.

What we actually do, day to day

Most of the week is taken up with the practical work of making celebrations happen: sourcing props, assembling balloon garlands, arranging deliveries, coordinating with venues and building installations. A fair amount of time goes into the creative side — moodboarding, colour-matching, designing backdrop layouts, testing new display techniques.

We run a hire collection that we're gradually expanding: backdrop frames, arch stands, giant letter and number props, sweet carts, LED neon signs and table centrepiece accessories. The hire items go out, come back and go out again — they're maintained between uses and replaced when they show wear. Nobody wants to hire a grubby backdrop stand.

The team is small and specific. There are two stylists who handle most of the hands-on work, one person who manages the enquiries and bookings, and a network of trusted suppliers for printed items, fresh florals, hire furniture and cakes. We don't try to do every single thing in-house. We work with good people who do what they do well.

What we think a good celebration looks like

A good celebration is one where the occasion is the point, not the logistics. The decorations should serve the atmosphere, not dominate it. The host should be relaxed and present, not frantically adjusting balloon strings when guests are trying to say hello.

A few things we've found matter more than most clients initially expect:

The tagline we've carried from the start

Make a Beautiful Celebration. That's what it comes down to. Not the most elaborate one, not the most photographed one — a beautiful one, specific to the person and the moment. That's the brief on every booking we take.
